An ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN works alongside qualified accountants in business, industry, private practice and the public sector. Once qualified, you can play a role from accounts to assistant accountant, form credit controller to systems administrator. Now known as ATI, (was IATI) In both courses subjects studied are accounting, taxation, business, law, financial management and Sage.

PLC - FETAC Level 5 Business and ICT Course
 
 
(Full-time in Boyne Community School)

The course is suitable for those wishing to return to education and also for those who wish to progress from LC to Third Level but who may not have the required number of points for a Computer or Business related course.
The course covers 9 modules. Complete 8 modules with Distinctions to gain automatic entry to level 6/7/8 courses at Third Level in the areas of Business and Computing.
8 Distinctions =400 Leaving Certificate points. Admission to the course is by interview.
€350 is payable in instalments (€150, €100, €100)

ICS Skills (ECDL)
 
 
 
ICS Skills is the certification body for ECDL in Ireland
 
ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) is the world's most successful IT skills certification. It verifies competence in computer use.  There are 7 modules, with an exam in each. More info at www.ics-skills.ie 
The modules in Word, Excel and Powerpoint are taught and tested in Term 1. Participants re-enrol in January for other 4 modules. Version 4 will be taught and examined. Further details from www.ics-skills.ie

Parent to Parent courses
 
These 5 week courses are offered to parents of incoming First Years in Boyne Community School.  They are video based workshops for parents of pre-teens and teens. Classes will be on Tuesdays.
